It's Bullant Season
It's that time again here in Australia. The time all ant keepers here in Australia wait for each year. Bullant Season.
Although the nuptial flights have been behind other years by a few weeks due to the colder than usual temperatures throughout spring, the smaller species of Myrmecia are finally being found.
We've been lucky this weekend, already finding two of the best, Myrmecia fulvipes and Myrmecia pilosula.
Over the next few weeks they'll continue to fly after heavy rain. Later in the year the larger species will begin their flights.
We've got our fingers crossed this year for a Myrmecia nigriscapa queen. One of our favourites.
