Outworld mk II
So after inspiring ourselves after writing this article we thought we'd give a small outworld a go in a similar style.
We don't have a nest connected as yet but we're keeping a medium sized Camponotus sp. in the formicarium housed in a blacked-out test tube that normally lives in the back corner. Removed for the photos.
It's also worth mentioning that the small cactus in the right corner is live but not planted directly in the substrate. Rather, we kept it potted and placed another pot the same size into the outworld and then placed the substrate around it. This enabled us to place the cactus pot into this pot. Thus we are able to remove the cactus at any time without affecting the rocks or gravel.
Check out the photos above and let us know what you think of our first attempt.
