Dragon's Egg Revisited
Here's a little formicarium I've made for an Australian ant keeper with a tighter budget.
Based on the original Dragon's Egg Formicaria and using the same methods this version has a few subtle changes.
To reduce production time I've done away with the magnets altogether, instead I'm using gravity to support the nest cover in place and just a small amount of coloured tack to hold the acrylic screen in position.
It still has the externally filled water tower and a 16mm test tube access port which later becomes the nest entrance, which is attached to an outworld of choice with the appropriate sized vinyl tubing.
Check out the images above and enjoy.
